Born 8/10/1811 in Ames NY. He moved from Ames to Providence, IL in 1836 where he was Supervisor of Bureau County for 5 years. He had the rank of Colonel in recruitment for the Civil War. He moved to Greenfield IA in May 1868 where he farmed. His 3 sons Edward, George and Charles all served in the Civil War. Source: Reg of Desc of Edward Morris 1870.
