Message:I have a family record saying that Anton was buried in Smith Cemetery. Are there photos of this cemetery or perhaps his headstone. I am his great-great granddaughter.

Message:It appears that this stone was ordered in error. The Bryon Abbott who served in the 7th Ohio died in Ohio in 1907. This Byron lived in Fayette County with his parents in 1860 and married there in 1864 and was born in Illinois.

Message:This is my Great Grandmother and the name should read Clyta P Hamlett. ( the Mrs E.T. ) would be Elias Thomas Hamlett her husband. She died very young shortly after her only child Otley was born.

Message:Edward T Hyland was my gr gr grandfather. He died in Casey, Iowa but is not buried in Oakwood cemetery. He was taken to Plainfield, Illinois, where he was born to be buried.

Message:John is not a Jr. The confusion is understandable since he lived with his Uncle John Morford from as early as age 1 to age 5 and until his death at age 15. His mother Elizabeth died in 1906.

Message:This record actually was written "Mo. Eng." but was incorrectly transcribed as "Mo. England". Could "Eng." have stood for something like Engineer"? So perhaps "Mo. Eng" meant something else entirely. Just a thought.

Message:This is likely Margaret "Maggie" Rebecca Dunn, daughter of Margaret and Samuel Dunn, wife of John David Henry, MD (oldest son of Matthew and Catherine Henry). John David and Maggie Dunn Henry and their three little girls, who died very young, are buried in Martinsburg.

Message:It looks like the stone says something unreadable "OF A. McAndrews". The stone is broken but says Aged 38 at the break. It does not appear that it is the spouse of Bridget whose name is on the lower half.

Message:Walter Clarence Minor, son of Joseph P. & Josephine (Fry) Minor. On July 23, 1918, he enlisted in the US Navy. He died at the Great Lakes Naval Station in Ill., a probable victim of the 1918 Influenza Pandemic.

Message:Thanks for letting us know. We've reviewed the original document which is of extremely poor quality and magnified it and we conclude the year of birth reported by the WPA was 1857, not 1837. This still doesn't match the 1860 census but is closer. Thanks again.

Message:Franciscus “Franz” FRISCH was the 3rd child of my fourth great-grandparents Jacob FRISCH (1755-1800) and Regina HUBERTY (1764-1840). Franz arrived in New York from Luxembourg via Le Havre, France, on 25 May 1854 on the ship Pauline. He traveled with two sons, a daughter-in-law, his brother, a sister-in-law, a nephew, and 3 nieces.
