Message:This was my gg grandfather who served in the Civil War Co. K 30th Iowa infantry. He was transferred to the Invalid Corps due to illness most likely obtained while in the building a canal around Vicksburg.

Message:The widow of the John Jacobson in the 2nd Iowa Infantry applied for a widow's pension in 1890 so it could not be this person. The John Jacobson at Swediah Methodist Cem. did not emigrate until 1868--well after the CW ended.

Message:According to census records, Mr. Miller lived in Poweshiek County in 1860 and throughout the war. He was married in Indiana in 1854. It seems unlikely that he was a Confederate Soldier.

Message:Rebecca Jane Garrison was born in Ohio She married Homer Corwin and had 1 child, James. Homer died and she then married Chapman W. H. Cox in Warren Co. Illinois. Message:Fred was son of James H. Watkins and Frances Conklin Remy. He married Fannie Cocklin on 24 May 1919 and had 2 daughters .He was the chief linotype operator at the Red Oak Express for over 25 yrs. He died 23 March 1937.

Message:Louis and Belle Starkey were my great grand parents. They were Norwegian. Great grandpa his home was in Waterville Iowa in Allamakee County Belle was from Winneshiek County. Starkey had been altered it used to be Stùckkey. have been simplified when the family came to America to Starkey.Lottie Henrietta their second youngest daughter was my grandma.
