I am doing research on the Smither line of W.T. Smither and Mary Jane Miller who are buried in the Evergreen Cemetery in Cass County, Iowa. They died 1903 and 1925. Would love to hear from anyone with information and connections to this family line. Thank You!

Smither was a member of Co. B, 4th Iowa Cavalry, during the Civil War. He enlisted 9/23/1861, and mustered out at the end of the war in 1865, with the rank of 3rd Sergeant.

Thank you so much for the info on W. T. Smither. Looked for his grave on foot in 2006 and could not find it. His son, W. T. Smither fought in WWI and his grandson, W. T. Smither, my father, flew a fighter in W. W. II. Thank you again. Derlene Smither Housley
